Heritage firm Harrington Homes is opening up to franchising, with two investment models available.
The Victorian-born business is backed by more than 45 years and three generations of family building experience in designing and delivering personalised homes.
Lachlan Harrington, director of franchising, told Inside Franchise Business Executive “Now is a great time to get into franchising, as a lot of people saw with Covid and losing their jobs, it’s much more promising to be your own boss. Specifically with the building franchise sector, federal and state governments have released a number of grants to keep the house market booming.”
Denita Wawn, CEO of Master Builders Australia, cites the HomeBuilder initiative as a star player for the sector.
“HomeBuilder will support $18 billion in new home construction and $50 billion in economic activity across the wider economy,” she said.
Harrington Homes expects its new home builder network will benefit from a predicted home renovation boom and has a target of signing up 10 franchises over the next 12 months.
“Even though we are just recently releasing franchise opportunities, the team has spent a number of years perfecting our franchise systems, curating our plans and building the business to a place where it stands to compete with the best in the business,” said Lachlan Harrington.
The business has invested in technology platforms to streamline operations, and introduced the Buildertrend system that provides a one-stop-shop for critical information such as quotes, contracts, build quantities, and costs.
Harrington Homes’ franchise investment opportunities start from $33,000 plus GST and additional working capital.
One model caters for experienced builders who have both a building and driver’s licence; a second option provides a structure for investors to own a franchise and hire builders.
Franchisees will also be able to utilise Harrington Homes national suppliers including Bunnings Trade, Beaumont Tiles, Haymes Paint, Lockwood and Tradelink, for their projects.
