The international franchise system ERA Group has appointed outgoing InXpress global COO Marcel Lal as its new global chief development officer.
In this leadership role Lal will have a focus on growing the cost reduction consultancy in existing and new markets across the Asia Pacific region.
Lal joined InXpress in 2018 as country manager for Australia and New Zealand. He spent five years as CEO of the Asia-Pacific CEO region before taking on the global COO role at the shipping solutions business.
ERA Group global CEO Mark Taylor said “We are thrilled to bring on board someone of Marcel’s vast franchise experience and calibre. He brings a proven skillset across all areas of franchising, and his knowledge of the Asia Pacific region will be particularly valuable for ERA Group in our next phase of growth.

Lal, ranked multiple times in the Top 30 Franchise Executives reports, continues to be based in Brisbane and remains a board member of the Franchise Council of Australia and FCA QLD State Chapter President.
