Flexible workspace franchise IWG is opening a state-of-the-art centre in South Australia in partnership with major developer, Pelligra Group.

The IWG’s Spaces brand will open facilities in Mawson Lakes in early 2024. The new venue will include private offices, meeting rooms, co-working and creative spaces.

The 8-storey building will provide space for established firms and start-ups across a range of industries including local defence and aerospace, technology, communications and education.

Mawson Lakes is a fast-growing regional centre. The area has a technology park, University of South Australia, central public transport hub and a golf course.

Damien Sheehan, IWG country head Australia, said there had been strong demand for new workspaces in the area last year.

Rising demand for flexible workspace

“The need for high-quality flexible workspaces continues to soar as hybrid working becomes the new normal. Our latest openings come at a time when more and more companies are discovering that flexible working boosts employee happiness and satisfaction, while helping the environment.

“Our workplace model is also proven to increase productivity and allows for a business to scale up or down at significantly reduced costs,” he said.

Ross Pelligra, chairman of Pelligra Group said “Pelligra and our partners One-7 look forward to welcoming IWG co-working group to our newest Holiday Inn Hotel and Commercial development in Mawson Lakes, South Australia.”

The development is due to open in early 2024.

“We continue to see demand increase for serviced offices and hot-desking space in suburban areas, catering to changing workplace environments, enhanced by the urban sprawl and future-industries boom occurring in Adelaide’s mid-north,” he said.

IWG has a global target of 1000 new locations within the next 12 months, 40 of these in Australia.

It has the Regus, Spaces, No18, Basepoint, Open Office and Signature brands in its portfolio.

IWG boasts 83 per cent of Fortune 500 companies among its customer base.
