Jump! Swim School will open nine new sites by June 2023, growing by an average of two new sites a month.

The continued expansion starts with sites at Doncaster East, Melton South and Mickleham in Victoria, along with Glenmore Park in New South Wales.

CEO Mark Collins said record enrolments post-pandemic are continuing to fuel growth.

“Covid and lockdowns really changed things for our industry and we’re still playing catch-up,” he said.

“We’ve also seen population increasing significantly in some geographical areas and a lack of infrastructure to cope with the needs of new families, so there are so many opportunities out there.”

Parents buying franchises will help fuel Jump! Swim’s 2023 growth

There’s a trend for parents of swim students to buy franchises themselves, he said.

“Frustrated parents are continuing to open sites after seeing their own children being stuck on waitlists. It’s an amazing example of businesses being born out of personal experience and need. We’ve never seen anything like it before.

“We’re also seeing people shift careers, tired of overly demanding workloads and looking to improve work-life balance and find more flexibility.”

Collins also pointed to a growing number of multi-site owners in the network.

“For example, the owners of our latest site to open at Lilydale already own a Jump! Swim School at South Morang and the new site coming at Melton South will be owned by a father of two who runs a Genesis gym franchise in the same area.”

The Belgravia Group-owned franchise has also opened multi-brand sites with sibling businesses including Genesis and BK’s Gymnastics.

Other franchises fuelling growth with multi-brand sites include the Burrito Bar group. A multi-brand drive-through concept opened last year with sibling brands Burrito Bar, Sweet Republick and Smokin Ribs n’ Burgers.

Another one-store multi-brand combination is Chatime bubble tea and sibling brand Goobne crispy Korean chicken.
