Look out for a new brand in franchising with the Launch Your Franchise winner announced.
The first-place prize was awarded to The Fish Factory, a popular bistro based in Brisbane that serves a diverse takeaway and dine-in menu with seating inside and outside the fish market.
The Fish Factory has won a full franchise development project valued at over $150,000, and delivered by the franchise consulting firm DC Strategy with six months of franchise marketing and advertising supported by competition partners.
Andrew Solomon, The Fish Factory, said “We are honoured and humbled to have won first prize. Recognition across multiple industries makes all the hard work worthwhile.”
Second place winner Gnocchi Gnocchi Brothers scored a prize valued at more than $75,000. This business has multiple store locations, dine-in, takeaway, and home delivery options serving fresh, hand-made gnocchi and other authentic Italian dishes.
Along with the third place winners Gnocchi Gnocchi Brothers will benefit from a comprehensive feasibility program from DC Strategy.
A joint third place was awarded to The Peanut Butter Bar and The Pizza Boys and both businesses will receive a prize value of more than $25,000 each.
The world’s first peanut butter tap is just one feature among other peanut butter inspired dishes with dine-in, takeaway and online options available at The Peanut Butter Bar, which has one location in Sydney.
The Pizza Boys is a mobile catering business started by two brothers and now has six trailers, more than 30 ovens and over 20 staff members delivering thin crust pizzas to events and parties.
DC Strategy revealed which of the four food finalists would be the winner on 26 March 2021, at the Sydney Franchising & Business Opportunities Expo during an all-exclusive event.
James Young, head of DC Strategy franchise sales and development, accepted the award on behalf of The Fish Factory.
Judging the shortlisted entries were Franchise Council of Australia chair Brendan Green, Poolwerx founder John O’Brien, Just Cuts GM Amber Manning, Motto Motto’s COO Matt Fickling, William Edwards from Edwards Global Services, Inside Franchise Business Executive editor, Sarah Stowe, and DC Strategy founder and chairman, Rod Young.
