One Quest Apartment Hotels executive has taken the leap and bought a franchise in the heritage chain, fulfilling a lifelong aspiration to become a business owner.
Franchise relationship manager Michael Bevilaqua says “I’ve dreamt of owning my own business since I was a kid, and it’s something my wife and I have discussed for years now. We looked at many different opportunities, but our passion has always been hospitality and accommodation. With three kids, we wanted to ensure that the time was right, which thanks to supportive friends, family and business partners, it now is.”
Michael and his wife Angalene will take operational ownership of Quest South Perth Foreshore on 1 October 2020.
Partnering in the property are existing Quest Alice Springs franchisees, Wen Qing Zhao, Bing Feng and Bei Wang.
Quest operates a pre-franchising model which sets steady foundations before appointing a suitably qualified franchisee. Under this model, the South Perth Foreshore property has been open since 2019.
David Mansfield, Quest’s chief operating officer, says “Michael has been with Quest South Perth Foreshore since day one, playing a vital role in the successful establishment of the property as one of the most well-reputed accommodation options in central Perth.
“We seek to engage entrepreneurs with a passion for hospitality and exceptional business acumen and are thrilled that Michael is joining our long list of impressive franchisees. We look forward to supporting him and Angalene in this next chapter.”
For Michael the experience of providing franchise support has given him a unique insight into the operational side of the business model.
“Working as a Quest franchise relationship manager over the last decade I’ve had the opportunity to meet, work and learn from many inspiring people, and develop a detailed understanding of the business model, which I trust will hold my wife and I in great stead as business operators,” he says.
