Australian chicken chain Red Rooster has appointed a new social media agency, whiteGREY, to direct and implement social strategy, creative, content creative and community management.
Red Rooster, owned by Craveable Brands, looked for a firm to deliver a strategy that would inspire Australians to make the chicken chain their QSR brand of choice.
Ashley Hughes, director of marketing, Red Rooster said “whiteGREY demonstrated a solid understanding of our brand values and positioning and presented an ingenious social strategy underpinned by clever creative and content that matched the fun-loving nature of our brand.
“We look forward to working with the team and bringing the strategy to life.”
The whiteGREY business is headed up by CEO, Lee Simpson, and is part of creative tech company WPP AUNZ.
Simpson said his team is delighted to work with the value-conscious chicken chain.
“whiteGREY will be bringing to life the fun-loving qualities of Red Rooster making everyday chicken moments synonymous with Australian’s sense of fun. We can’t wait to get started and also enjoy some great tasting chicken along the way.”
The agency is already working with Red Rooster on the first campaign, expected to roll-out early 2021.
Earlier this year the chicken chain partnered with NRL team the Sydney Roosters, with the Red Rooster logo adorning the footballers’ training kit. Red Rooster celebrated this high-profile promotion with an Instagram-based competition.
And in April 2020, as Aussies faced the first lockdown, Red Rooster joined forces with a volunteer initiative to help with food drops to first responders and medical staff on the front line of the Coronavirus pandemic in Victoria.
