Franchise Executives has unveiled the Top 30 Franchise Executives report for 2023, showcasing the best high performing professionals in the sector.

Congratulations to everyone who made the list this year in a highly-competitive field of franchise executives.

Taking out top slot this year, Richard Thame, CEO at CouriersPlease.

Thame joined CouriersPlease last year and committed to revitalising the franchise model with a strong franchisee-focus, growing and scaling the business, and strengthening the digital footprint. He has ditched traditional business hierarchy to empower individuals, and emphasised the importance of mental health, sustainability and a diverse workforce.

InXpress CEO Asia Pacific, Marcel Lal, took out second place.

Last year Lal led a large-scale system upgrade, achieved strong year-on-year growth and saw more franchisees achieving higher levels of profit.

In third spot, Therese Frangie, chief operating officer at Mad Mex, a keen advocate for women in leadership and an enthusiastic mentor.

Frangie focuses on flexibility, communication, collaboration and creativity to nurture people and profit, last year achieving impressive results.

James Hucker, head of franchising at CouriersPlease, was ranked fourth this year. Hucker heads up a newly-created department, with a focus on reshaping franchise recruitment.

And in fifth place, Kerri Wane, CEO of San Churro.

Wane prioritised franchise profitability in her new role at San Churro and gained EBITDA improvements through a series of pricing, product mix and digital channel initiatives and supplier negotiations.
