Burger Urge satisfies demand for plant based eating

Burger Urge’s new chicken burger, dubbed “Zero Clucks”, promises to deliver superior taste and texture without coming close to an actual chook. Australia’s second largest gourmet burger franchise has collaborated with one of the country’s leading plant-based food companies, Fënn Foods, to deliver what they describe as the best plant-based chicken burger on the market.

“Burger Urge are all about providing a product that is fresh, imaginative and delicious – and those values align perfectly with ours,” says Fënn Foods Executive Chair Nicholas Simms.  “We’re really excited to have vEEF® products feature in their range.”

A plant based selection

Burger Urge is committed to doing the right thing by the planet and animal welfare as well as customers’ taste buds. They already have a number of plant-based options on the menu including a 100 per cent vegan cheeseburger featuring the premium vEEF burger patty.

“We were super impressed with the high quality of the vEEF products, and they really hit the mark in terms of taste,” says Burger Urge CEO Sean Carthew. “Our partners must also align with our values in terms of quality, commitment to taste and sustainability and Fënn Foods met the brief perfectly.”

Growing demand for meat-free options

As consumer demand continues to increase, more foodservice outlets and restaurants are including options for vegans, flexitarians and others seeking plant-based alternatives. According to the Australian Financial Review, industry studies suggest that one in three people are flexitarian or meat-reducing.

Based on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Fënn Foods is dedicated to producing innovative meat alternative products using quality ingredients. The products are natural and nutritious and, thanks to the guidance of Michelin-star trained chef Alejandro Cancino, there’s a strong focus on flavour.
