Visitors flocked to the Sydney Franchising & Business Opportunities at the weekend, with queues of enthusiastic entrepreneurs lining up for entry early each day.

Exhibitor Peter Fiasco at Kwik Kopy said “We have seen a lot of people asking great questions. Some visitors are just starting out, others are more advanced in their franchise search. Overall there is a feeling that business is coming back, that people are ready to invest in their future.”

Pack & Send’s Luke Martin said “This expo has been a great opportunity to have meaningful conversations with engaged people wanting to start their own business.”

First time exhibitors

Some franchisors exhibited for the first time, including Cocoon SDA Care, sandwich shop Stacked, and Top Juice.

Stacked director Steven Khawaga said “It’s the first expo we’ve done and it’s been worthwhile, we’ve been busy.”

Emmanuel Attard at Top Juice said the expo had exceeded expectations.

“It’s our first time at an expo, and this has been better than we had forecast. We have had lots of good quality leads.

“We have rebranded, and are rolling out the new look across our stores so this expo has been a good opportunity to get the new brand out there,” he said.

Sydney franchise expo 2023 keynote

Dr Jana Pitman was the keynote speaker on both days at the Sydney franchise expo, and attracted a big crowd to the seminar theatre.

Exhibition manager Fiona Stacey said “Sydney has been as good, if not better than Melbourne’s expo. It was great so see busy aisles and franchisors not able to draw breath till mid-afternoon.”

“The seminar program has been very strong, and very popular and it was wonderful to have an inspirational speaker such as Dr Jana Pitman.”

The expo showcased about 90 franchising brands across a diverse range of industries.
