Grill’d is this week launching its first drive-thru restaurant, and the 165th outlet in the burger chain.

The new format restaurant is in Mt Ommaney, Brisbane, set to open today with a grand opening on Saturday 15 July.

Aaron Fitzgerald CEO – International, told Franchise Executives, “This being our first foray in the drive-thru space we hope to gain a number of market and operational insights that will inform our future growth plans. But we know drive-thru will be a pivotal strategy as we aim to serve delicious healthy burgers to more Australians in the format they desire.”

Simon Crowe, Grill’d founder, is keen to stress the burgers are not fast food, even in a drive-thru location.

“Grill’d drive-thru is a quick way to get your burger fix, but it’s not fast food. Our guests have been telling us they’re craving healthy choices in the convenience space.”

Crowe said it is important the full Grill’d menu and experience are part of the drive-thru offer.

“We’re not cutting corners – there’s still over 40 amazing menu options, handmade with love by our team,” he said.

Simon Crowe founded Grill’d in 2004 and the chain is a mix of corporate and franchised restaurants.
