The latest Pizza Hut China restaurant enjoys a sweeping view of the sea and showcases advanced sustainability solutions. It is also the group’s milestone 3000th store.

Joey Wat, CEO of Yum China, said the opening of the Qinhuangdao store is more than a landmark moment.

“It demonstrates Pizza Hut’s strength as a “pizza expert” and reaffirms our commitment to growing the brand in China,” he said. “This milestone also underscores our focus on continuous innovation, from menu innovation and digitalization, to a range of new store formats.”

Wat added “We believe the brand holds tremendous growth potential in China, and we are committed to actively pursuing expansion opportunities to further grow the brand.”

The store’s eco-friendly fitout features an IoT-based intelligent energy management system and outdoor solar lamps. Renewable and recycled materials were used in the decor and layout.

Pizza Hut opened in 1990 in Beijing and is now the largest casual dining restaurant brand in China.

At the end of March 2023, Pizza Hut had more than 135 million members in China. During the first quarter of 2023, digital orders accounted for about 91 per cent of company sales.
