The 140-year-old real estate business reports 96 offices joined its ANZ network in 2023, with about 80 per cent of these conversions from competitor brands.

The remaining 20 per cent were independent operators and start-ups.

In October 2023 one Northern Rivers real estate agency signed up with Raine & Horne after 50 years with a competing agency.

Rebrand for values and technology

One of the principals at the Maclean business, Brandon Bourke, said the rebrand was a result of a comprehensive review of all aspects of operations.

“We collectively opted for a brand change, selecting Raine & Horne due to shared values, progressive culture and long-term strategy. We see value in their support, superior technology, and their strong commitment to the community,” he said.

“From initial impressions, first-to-market products such as AI-powered digital marketing platform Amplify and the online proposal tool, DigikitPlus are very appealing.”

The Maclean business has since opened a second agency in Yamba.

Angus Raine, chairman of Raine & Horne, said the brand’s unique value proposition attracts franchisees.

“As leaders in real estate franchising, we take pride in offering unparalleled support to our offices. Our unique value proposition, a trusted brand with a growing presence and a cutting-edge technology ecosystem, positions us favourably.”

Fresh New Zealand market expanding

The strongest growth was in New Zealand, a market Raine & Horne launched in a year ago. Within nine months the business opened 13 offices across the North Island.

In December Raine & Horne also acquired a real estate network of 55 franchisees and 120 agents under the Mike Pero Real Estate banner. This provides the heritage brand with a footprint across both North and South Islands.

It also agreed a strategic partnership with Mike Pero Mortgages. Raine & Horne will work exclusively with the home loans brand to deliver financial service solutions to its customers in New Zealand.
