An Adelaide-based retail group which owns and operates a number of independent supermarkets including IGA outlets, is to launch a European-inspired food-hall concept near Wynyard in Sydney’s CBD.

Romeo’s Retail Group will unveil Locali, a 1260sqm food hall, mid-2021.

Joseph Romeo, owner and director of Romeo Retail Group, said “This brand-new European market-feel grocer will deliver a refreshing new experience for Sydney CBD office workers and shoppers alike.”

The store will include a fresh food market, walk-in cheese room, fresh butcher and dry ageing room, commercial kitchen, dine-in restaurant, and a liquor store.

In-store experiences such as cooking classes, and cheese and wine appreciation classes will also be available at the Locali outlet.

The Romeo Group has secured a 10-year lease for the site with two further five-year options.
