Studio Pilates International has just opened its first US studio, a franchise in Louisville, Kentucky.
Two more US studios are already in the pipeline (in Brooklyn and Southampton) as the Brisbane-based company extends its international footprint.
There are already outelts in New Zealand and China, with interest coming from a diverse range of countries including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Hong Kong and Indonesia.
Just a year ago the wellness brand was boosting its Australian footprint with the launch of its first studio in Western Australia and announced its Chinese and US signings.
Studio Pilates was co-founded by CEO and former Olympian Jade Winter and physiotherapist Tanya Winter.
Jade Winter said the US expansion represented an important milestone for the business, which has 75 studios sold, optioned or reserved across the Australian and international network.
“We are going from strength to strength,” said Winter. “In the last financial year, the group attracted half a million client visits and grew franchisee network sales by 37 per cent on the same period, prior to Covid closures. Now doors are open again, we’re seeing record client visits, with waitlists on most classes.”
Winter said “Our Louisville studio has set a new record for us, with the highest sales figures ever in an opening week.”
The Studio Pilates model operates high intensity, low impact group workouts. It’s been designed by a team of exercise physiologists and physiotherapists with the 40-minute science-based reformer workouts delivered on multiple digital screens across the workout space.
Last year the Pilates business partnered with home-delivery meal service Nourish’d.
