The Cheesecake Shop has appointed a new head of network development. Sean O’Connor has a proven track record and a commercial background in the franchising industry.

His career includes nearly eight years as general manager franchising at Craveable Brands, before brief spells at NightOwl and most recently Concept Eight.

The Cheesecake Shop’s CEO, Scott Bush, said Sean’s franchise operations experience will be valuable to the team at a time of rejuvenation and growth.

“It’s an exciting time to be involved in the business and Sean’s energy, passion and experience is what makes him the perfect leader to join the team and help continue the focus on accelerating growth and innovation to help strengthen our brand presence both domestically and internationally,” said Bush.

This strategic appointment is a key part of The Cheesecake Shop’s vision to expand its footprint and reach more customers, occasions and households and will be integral to The Cheesecake Shop’s executive team.

O’Connor shared his appointment news on LinkedIn.

“I am very excited about the opportunity to join such a talented team at The Cheesecake Shop. After a phenomenal rebrand its time to accelerate the growth across Australia and New Zealand and build upon the 240+ store network,” he wrote.

O’Connor takes responsibility for growing locations across Australia and New Zealand, boosting franchise recruitment and rolling out the new brand’s refurbishment program.

Bush said “In this role, Sean will be responsible for spearheading our network expansion efforts, enhancing our franchisee support systems, and building strong relationships with our franchisees.”
