The next Melbourne Franchising & Business Opportunities Expo will now take place in autumn 2021 after the organisers took the decision to move the expo from its scheduled August 2020 date.
New franchising expo dates have been announced for all the shows, which are expected to grow with the increased interest from displaced workers looking to start their own business.
Exhibition manager Fiona Stacey said “It has been tough for every business to get through these times. However we need to start planning for the rebuild and exploring new careers is going to be top of mind for many people. Franchising has traditionally done well in tough times.”
New franchising expo dates
The Sydney show scheduled earlier this year was postponed only one week out, and will now run from 13-14 November at ICC Sydney.
The smaller events scheduled for Perth and Brisbane have been cancelled and will return next year in their regular timeslots.
Melbourne’s franchising expo is now set for 12-13 March 2021.
Stacey said “We are now focused on making the November show in Sydney a huge success. It will be a chance for everyone to reconnect and restart the journey to running a business. We really want to thank exhibitors and the Franchise Council for working with us to make this happen.”
Clayton Treloar from MBE said he supported the changes. He said “these are extraordinary times but I know the franchising team are working hard to get the shows running again. We are seeing an upsurge in enquiries and I am excited to get back in front of potential recruits.”
