Poolwerx is partnering with leading global investment firm Norwest to drive business expansion in Australia and overseas.
Norwest partners with some of the world’s largest brands including Uber, Spotify and Calm, as well as a range of franchise businesses. Poolwerx is already the largest global franchise pool service brand and the additional expertise and opportunities Norwest can provide will speed up the company’s growth in Australia, New Zealand and the U.S.
30 years of success
Poolwerx founder and CEO John O’Brien (pictured) said he was thrilled to welcome Norwest into the Poolwerx family of 350 franchise partners, 170 stores and more than 600 service vans around the world.
“I started Poolwerx 30 years ago and, during this time, we have proved our resilience as a brand,” he said. “We have experienced growth in every year of operation despite multiple recessions, and achieved record sales during a global pandemic. Through this new partnership, we will have access to Norwest’s wealth of experience across both franchise and non-franchise businesses, allowing us to reach our growth goals faster.”
Stew Campbell, partner at Norwest, believes that Poolwerx’ strong relationships with franchise partners and suppliers, robust expansion processes and fiercely loyal customers were the keys to cracking the U.S. market.
“The company is uniquely positioned to capitalise on opportunities in the large and growing pool and spa market across products and services, both domestically and overseas,” he said.
Meanwhile, Poolwerx will continue business as usual, but with former COO Nic Brill taking on the role of CEO. O’Brien will continue to lead the business strategically as Executive Director.
“Our day-to-day operations will remain the same, as will our mission of building a network of small family businesses helping families create lifelong poolside memories,” O’Brien said.
