Sarah Ding named TerryWhite Chemmart Pharmacist of the Year

Sarah Ding, a pharmacist at the Coffs Harbour TWC owned by franchisee Tanya Maloney, has been named 2022 TerryWhite Chemmart (TWC) Pharmacist of the Year.

Ding received her award during the first live Masterclass Gala in two years. It was presented by Rhonda White who, with husband Terry, developed the Terry White Chemists concept in 1982.

“I am truly honoured to be awarding Sarah with the Pharmacist of the Year for 2022,” White said. “Sarah is a recognisable force in her Coffs community – always assessing the needs of her local area and delivering new community support programs for those in need.”

A force for the community

Ding leads a team of seven pharmacists, helping them with dispensary workflow, professional development and clinic services. TWC Executive General Manager Nick Munroe described her as a pillar of her community and a driving force when it comes to raising awareness of health conditions with her patients.

“One of Sarah’s most successful campaigns was her Palliative Care initiative, working with doctors, nurses, and other community organisations to provide local patients and their families the highest level of care during their time of need,” he said. “She also led a dedicated Pain Management Community Program in Coffs, to treat and support people suffering from acute and chronic pain, and subsequently trained the entire TWC pharmacy network.”

Overcoming a two-year challenge

Accepting her award, Ding thanked TWC and her peers for the acknowledgement.

“Winning this award means so much to me, but its more about every pharmacist and team member who has survived and managed to thrive over these past two incredibly challenging years,” she said.

TWC has a network of 500 community pharmacies across Australia, all owned and operated by a pharmacist.
