Banjo’s Bakery Café has unveiled the first Australian bakery order and pay app, allowing customers to beat the bread queue at its 44 franchise stores across Tasmania.
The chain’s CEO and MD, Jessica Saxby, said the mobile app offers customers the convenience of ordering before arrival at a bricks-and-mortar store.
“Digital experiences are the future, and the new mobile app responds to consumer demand for fast and flexible payments,” Saxby said.
“It’s amazing to know that customers who have purchased their bread in-store every day since we opened at our first location in Launceston will now be able to interact with the brand and make that same purchase via the app.”
The free mobile application has a range of benefits for users including a ViP Loyalty Club, Click and Collect ordering and online catering options and the bakery chain is offering a 50 per cent discount on all app customers’ first orders.
Every person who signs up to the new app will also receive an annual bonus on their birthday, discounted offers, earn points on applicable purchases, be able to use points towards their purchases and review previous purchases.
Banjo’s ViP Ordering App is available on IOS and Android devices.
The app is the latest innovation from this bakery chain which first opened its doors in 1984. Earlier this year the business unveiled drive-through, and has continued to innovate on the menu, bringing a bangers and mash combo to the winter menu this year.

Banjo’s has been fundraising for the cause for five years. In 2020 the goal is to raise more than $35,000 for the cause by donating 50 cents from the sale of every large coffee in the chain’s Tasmanian stores.
