There are five days left to have your say on the Franchising Code of Conduct. Friday 29 September is the deadline for public submissions for the upcoming Code review.

The review is being undertaken because of sun-setting provisions in the current Code and a commitment from the previous Government to review the effectiveness of the Franchise Disclosure Register, which launched in November 2022.

The Hon Julie Collins, Small Business Minister has appointed former ACCC deputy chair Dr Michael Schaper to conduct an independent review.

Terms of reference for the review include whether the Code is generally fit for purpose, and the effectiveness of recent reforms.

There is also a consultation paper which provides more detail.

The Franchise Council of Australia has engaged with its members to gain practical insights to help shape its submission.

Public submissions can be emailed to [email protected].
