Lone Star Rib House and Brews has signed its 20th restaurant, and the third franchise outlet location in South Australia.

The restaurant chain expects to open 10 restaurants across the country within the next 12 months. Another two locations are already in the pipeline to open in New South Wales early in 2023.

Lone Star is targeting the ACT and Victoria in particular for growth next year with opportunities available in both regions.

20th store will open in December

A new franchisee has signed up for the prime location at Gilles Plains Shopping Centre and building has begun for the new site.

Gary Blyton, Lone Star general manager, said “We’re incredibly excited to be growing our presence
in South Australia, and continue to build out our solid franchisee model in line with our targeted growth plans.

“The build is officially underway and we are thrilled to have another opportunity to bring the local community our signature Lone Star experience that is loved by so many around the country.”

The American-inspired venue will open its doors early December.

Lone Star unveiled its new brand extension in 2020, a concept designed to appeal to a younger, pub-going crowd. The new model combines creative dining options with great service and an extended drinks menu.

The Rib House and Brews outlets have primary service liquor licenses, which allows for alcohol-only sales

Other brands building their casual dining portfolio include TGI Friday’s, which was only launched as a sub-franchise offer in May this year. The business was previously operated entirely by Signature Hospitality, which holds the Australian licence. Signature Hospitality also franchises The Sporting Globe.

Quick service restaurant openings are also on the rise. According to a recent study fast food outlet openings are outpacing store closures.

Last month Collins Foods hit its own mega milestone with the opening of its 350th outlet, a KFC flagship in Brisbane’s Queen Street Mall.
