The fast food chain Mr Potato went into liquidation on 4 July after the court granted the ATO’s application for a winding-up order over a $151,000 debt.

David Ian Mansfield and Philip Andrew Robinson of Deloitte were appointed liquidators.

Mr Potato launched as a healthy-eating fast food option in 2018 in Adelaide, and early in 2025 had eight stores. Three of these stores have since closed, and news.com.au reports the business behind the original Glenelg store went into voluntary liquidation a few weeks ago.

One franchisee, Amy Kelly, owned the Broadbeach and Mermaid Waters stores on the Gold Coast. Kelly told news.com.au her stores were shuttered in February after never achieving a profit, and she is now facing bankruptcy.

In March this year Mr Potato co-founders, former model and Miss Universe entrant Jess Davis and her husband Tyson Hoffman, a former basketball player with the Adelaide 36ers, embarked on a six-month food truck tour around Australia.
