TerryWhite Chemmart has opened its 500th pharmacy with the unveiling of the outlet in Matraville, Sydney, and has revealed plans to reach 600 pharmacies across Australia.
It’s been a bumper few weeks for the pharmacy chain, with the milestone store opening coming soon after TerryWhite Chemmart won the 2022 Customer Experience of the Year category at the Retailer Awards.
Executive general manager Nick Munroe said the opening of the network’s 500th pharmacy reflects the continued expansion of the brand.
“In the last 12 months, we have seen strong growth within the TerryWhite Chemmart brand with a net 41 new pharmacies joining the network,” he said.
Munroe said the growth has been driven by the value the brand creates for its network partners and the ongoing marketing investments.
“The store network’s trading performance has also been strong with gross profit growth of approximately 7 per cent and prescription sales growth of approximately 10 per cent” he added.
A series of new generic supply arrangements are expected to significantly improve the cost of goods for its network partners as the business looks add a further 100 pharmacies to its footprint.
“The momentum is very positive and we have no intention of slowing down and now 600 pharmacies are well in our sights. We want every Australian to benefit from our heathcare programs and services and be able to access us within 10 minutes of their home.”
Pharmacy founders Terry and Rhonda White joined Nick Munroe, and other local dignitaries to celebrate the opening of the 500th store.
Movses Injejikian, managing partner of TerryWhite Chemmart Matraville, said “I am so proud to be part of the 500th pharmacy in the TerryWhite Chemmart network. The growth and reputation of the brand combined with their strong focus on health services is a key reason we joined TerryWhite Chemmart.”
