Jetset Pilates will expand beyond the US and make its Australia debut at Glenarm Square, Glen Iris, in late spring 2024.
It is the latest overseas Pilates chain to see potential in the Aussie market; Jetset joins other US brands Vaura Pilates and Club Pilates and local businesses including Strong Pilates , Studio Pilates and KX Pilates in the burgeoning wellbeing fitness space.
It blends traditional and modern Pilates in 50-minute sessions with dynamic choreography set to DJ-curated playlists.
Tamara Galinsky founded the business in Miamia Beach in 2010. Jetset now has 50 franchised studios either established or in development across the US. Locations include California, Colorado Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Texas, Utah and Washington DC.
Galinsky aims to add another 550 locations to this footprint, and said expansion into Australia is a natural next step for international growth.
“We’re fulfilling the intention of making Jetset’s elevated Pilates experience accessible on a global scale,” she said.
Jetset’s Australian debut studio will feature 16 custom-made advanced reformers in a sleek, modern setting. It will also include a signature brand scent, custom apparel, a dedicated client concierge, outdoor seating area and social media-friendly lighting.
Jetset’s first international franchisee Kathryn Woodfine has returned to Melbourne after 13 years in the US.
“I am excited to be part of the growth of Jetset Pilates. We were meticulous in finding the best location in Melbourne for Jetset’s milestone first international studio. I look forward to building a strong community where self-care is prioritised in a welcoming and vibrant space,” Woodfine said.
