Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest franchised hotel business, has recorded 7.4 per cent year on year net room growth. The rise is equivalent to 14,200 rooms.

The US-based global hotel business operates 24 brands, last year introducing nine new brands to the region. The new brands are Wyndham Grand, Wyndham, Hawthorn by Wyndham, TRYP by Wyndham, Trademark Collection by Wyndham, Ramada Encore by Wyndham, and Howard Johnson by Wyndham.

Last year Wyndham signed 222 hotels and opened 158 hotels.

Geoff Ballotti, president and CEO, visited the Asia Pacific region in early March and participated in 27 signing ceremonies for new hotels. Its portfolio has nearly 1,800 opened hotels across Asia Pacific.

Trips which mix business and leisure activities (bleisure) are helping to drive the business, said Joon Aun OOI, President, Asia Pacific, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.

“Bleisure tourism across the Asia Pacific region continued to recover nicely in 2023, creating unprecedented opportunities for Wyndham and our franchisees. As a result, demand for our 15 brands is as strong as it’s ever been, particularly among hotel owners, who increasingly are recognising the value of partnering with the world’s largest hotel franchisor,” Joon Aun said.
