Chemist Warehouse has launched a digital health and wellbeing scanner for customers to access for free using their smart phone cameras.
The scanner enables camera sensors to remotely measure physiological signs by analysing the light absorption of the blood flowing under the skin. Artificial Intelligence then interprets this data to measure physiological signs in real time.
The scanner has been developed by exercise physiologist, Nicholas Harris, who was head of performance for Formula 1 for 11 years alongside top teams and drivers including Redbull, BMW, Honda, Jaguar, Jenson Button.
Harris was also a performance consultant for tennis legend Andy Murray when he reached World
Number One and Robert Downey Jnr in his roles for both the Iron Man and Sherlock Holmes movies.
Harris is the CEO and founder of HPE (Human Performance Engineering Ltd). He said “At a time when monitoring our health and wellness has never been more important, we are excited to partner with the Chemist Warehouse to offer their customers our truly innovative software solution that can enable any camera sensor on any device to scan your face and measure heart rate, heart rate variation, blood oxygen, breathing rate and stress levels.”
