Silk Laser Clinics has been rated a 5-star franchise, and becomes the first health and beauty brand to be recognised for its high performance and transparency on the Australian Franchise Rating Scale.

The stars are allocated after a fact-based assessment is conducted across seven key categories by business intelligence and information advisory firm FRANdata.

Silk Laser Clinics head of network growth, Josh Lawson, said “The value in this report is validation to our current Silk family that what we are doing is considered best practice with franchise health being our priority.

“It also provides prospective franchise partners with an independent review of the system based on the knowledge FRANdata has collected across the vast number of systems in Australia.

“The culmination of investment back into our groups systems and technology, while adopting a mindset of franchise partner health with our decision making, has held us in good stead for this review,” he said.

“We continue to invest in technologies that support our network of clinics as well as have an approach of continual training both at a clinic and head office level.

Silk maintains a strong focus on franchisee profitability, he said, driven by setting high standards and “going above and beyond” for customers.

“This rating confirms we are on the right track and is a credit to the Silk family which very much includes our franchisees,” he added.

FRANdata’s Australian CEO Darryn McAuliffe said the Australian Franchise Rating review evidenced “a very successful franchise model” across all categories measured.

“As expected, the strong trading performance across the network is delivering solid financial outcomes for individual franchisees. A strong culture of compliance was also evident; backed up by a highly disciplined approach to training and ongoing support.”

Silk Laser Clinics is also finalising comprehensive bank credit and franchise underwriting reports for lenders which Darryn expects to lead to “heightened interest” from the lending community.
