Aussie fitness chain BFT has appointed an international expert to head up the brand’s expansion into Iberian countries including Spain and Portugal.

British born Liz Andrews started her 20-year career in Switzerland with the European premium health and fitness chain Holmes Place. Andrews then extended her scope to Portugal, Spain, Germany and Austria.

Four years ago she established the Iberian footprint for the European fitness aggregator Urban Sports Club.

Andrews is confident the team, solid programming and strong sense of community will resonate in Europe.

BFT has just opened its first studio in the heart of London, following the Leicester launch mid 2022. It has a 50-studio target for the UK.

Following its $60 million deal Xponential Fitness is leading expansion across the US and Canada which leaves the Australian team to focus on the domestic market, Asia, Europe and the UK.

BFT has opened its 230th studio, and plans 100 more venues across APAC within the next 12 months.

The business has already sold all its territories in New Zealand.
